If you raise a concern about malpractice, it should be in good faith without any malicious intent or financial gain. 41 14.INFORMATIONANDDATAcontinued 14.5YOUR DATA We hold information about you which includes your name, address, email address, telephone numbers, emergency contacts, bank account details, employment history, performance reviews, online training activity, and for a period of time your passport for the right to work. We also hold information about your sickness absence, and attendance record, which enables Byron to fulfil its health and safety duties, and to administer the absence policy. If you work in our restaurants we will hold your biometric data (your thumb print) to record your attendance and operate the tills. We process this data as part of the terms of your contract of employment. If you are aware that any information that we hold on you is incorrect, please let your manager know as it is vital that we keep your employee record up to date. Please note that you are responsible for ensuring that your personal data is accurate and kept up to date. Should you ever want to see the information we hold on you, or have any queries about your personal data, please speak to your manager in the first instance. 14.6 COMMUNICATION Avoid making private telephone calls or emails during work time except in exceptional circumstances. Business telephones and computers need to be kept free for business purposes. Private use of mobile phones whilst working on the restaurant floor or in the kitchen is a real no no, know your shit and don’t do it. 14.7WHISTLEBLOWING We aim to run our business ethically and properly, we think honesty is the best policy. Please do tell us if you discovered any crime, injustice or misconduct being committed on our premises. Any employee can raise these issues without fear of personal detriment or victimisation. If you have any information which leads you to believe that, in some aspect of our business, anything untoward is going on then you should report the matter to your manager or a more senior person in whom you feel able to confide.
