9.PAY We pay you in arrears straight into the bank account you’ve provided us – it is the quickest, easiest and most efficient way of getting you your money. If you ever want to change the account where your money is being paid into, please give your new bank details to your manager and they will update it on Fourth. If you are due to be paid please make sure you give your new information as soon as possible to ensure payment isn’t made into an old account. 9.1 PAY DAYS Restaurant team members and Head Chefs are paid weekly this happens every Friday. All restaurant managers are paid on the last day of the month Berners Street are paid on the last Thursday of every month 9.2 PAYSLIPS Your Byron Payslips are accessible within the Fourth app. Within your first two weeks you will receive a link sent to your personal email address that you provided to us, so please check with your manager to make sure your email address is correct. You can download the app from the App Store (iPhone) or Pay Store (Android) Make sure you download your pay slip regularly as you can only see 3 months’ worth at any one time. 9.3 SALARY REVIEW We review pay annually. Please note this is a review and does not mean we will automatically or always increase your pay. We additionally review hourly rates in line with the National Minimum wage and the National Living Wage increases. Please refer to the Salary review Policy for further details 9.4TRONC In addition to basic pay, if you work in our restaurants you will receive a share of tips paid by credit or debit card during a shift they work.This is known as Tronc.Your contract of employment will tell you if you are entitled to receive Tronc or not. Any Tips earned through the Tronc will be taxable.Tronc is paid directly into your bank account along with your basic pay.This is paid weekly for both front and back of house staff. •  Your manager will take you through the tips sign-off process in your restaurant, which will make sure you receive your correct tips through the Tronc system •  Cash tips are not covered under theTronc system and it is your responsibility to disclose these to HM Revenue & Customs •  The Tronc system is operated by a Tronc Committee and headed up by the TroncMaster • For further details please refer to the Tronc Policy. 21 8.SICKNESScontinued 8.3 SICKNESS RULES: • Remember to call your manager at least two hours before you are due to start work • Keep your manager informed of your situation and when you expect to return • Complete a Company Self-certification form when required • Produce a doctor’s certificate when required •  If you give false details in regard to your illness, it may be treated as gross misconduct and dealt with via our disciplinary process. •  If you are unwell because of food poisoning, you must stay away from the restaurant for a minimum of 48 hours and you cannot return to work before this time due to the welfare of your fellow colleagues and customers. Please note that you must follow the Byron procedures as outlined above. If you do not follow these procedures or you are found to be giving false details of being ill, it could result in disciplinary action being taken up to and including dismissal. 8.4 ABSENCE: If you have 3 periods of absence or more it could result in the absent management procedures being followed, which could lead to disciplinary action being taken against you, for further details please refer to the Byron Absence Management policy. 20
