Please be aware this list is not an exhaustive list: • Bad timekeeping • Minor breach of company standards • Unauthorised absence (gross misconduct if it for a period of time) • Unsatisfactory attendance • Failure to observe company procedures • Rudeness to guests, suppliers, colleagues or managers • Careless loss or damage to company property or equipment • Unauthorised use of employer’s computer and telephone equipment • Unprofessional behaviour • Distribution of inappropriate jokes, emails 34 Our security rules are designed to minimise the risk of loss to the company. Please co-operate fully with the company’s security policies and procedures and please ensure that you follow them at all times to ensure that we have good security and safety at work – for money, goods, resources and your people. Here are a few common-sense rules: • It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure the prevention of thefts of money, goods or resources from the business – if you notice anything suspicious, or become aware of the breach of any security procedures, report it to your manager or another available member of the Management team ASAP • It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure safety and security procedures are followed at all times • Find out the rules for your area. Specific security rules may apply to the part of the business you work in – if this is the case you will be notified separately • Make suggestions – any ideas for improvement in the security procedures are always welcome. Please give your manager any ideas you may have • Follow all our security rules to make sure you’re protected – failure to do so may result in summary dismissal for gross misconduct For more information on Security Procedures and Processes please refer to the intranet/pickle 13.1 ACCOUNTING PROCEDURES It is particularly important that you follow strictly and accurately, all procedures for authorising and recording the movement of money, goods and resources through the business, so we can keep track of what’s going where. 13.2 SHORTAGES It is gross misconduct for anyone to take or give cash off a credit card through the till, or to cash cheques through the till. If there is a shortfall in takings as a result of you not following the correct Byron procedure, we reserve the right to deduct that loss from your pay, up to a maximum value of 10% of your weekly pay until the amount is repaid 13.3 COMPANY PROPERTY Please make sure you only use company property (like uniforms, documents, kitchen equipment, etc.) when you’re on the Company’s property. If you want to use them personally, you must get specific authorisation in advance from your manager or a director.
