SOCOTEC is the UK’s leading provider of testing, inspection and compliance services, with comprehensive solutions in Infrastructure & Energy and Environment & Safety. We’re currently looking for a General Manager to lead a dedicated team at our Didcot-based nuclear testing facility. This is a rare opportunity to drive the success of a growing part of our business.
As General Manager, you’ll be tasked with taking our nuclear testing facility forward and delivering growth through astute business development. We have exciting plans for this site and with recent investment in new equipment and technology, the unit is well placed for progress.
Leading activities across Sales, Operations, Technical and Quality, you’ll manage operations and a 25-strong team and look for ways to improve process and develop a high performing workforce. This calls for an assertive, engaging approach and natural motivational skills. Consultative, driven and forward-thinking you will bring change, nurture projects and build on the units achievements.
Degree-qualified (or equivalent), with a hands-on approach to management, you will have excellent people skills and a technical background. Experience in the nuclear industry isn’t essential, but you must be able to manage a technical site and inspire both technical and non-technical staff.
