Residential Support Worker

Highfield House | Kendal

£19,804 – £24,985 + Sleep in Allowance, Bonus + Outstanding benefits package

As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll have a challenging but fulfilling job. Working with vulnerable young people in our children’s homes, you’ll provide personalised care and create a calm, safe living environment. That involves planning social and leisure activities, giving counselling and escorting children on activities, but most importantly creating a home.

Experience isn’t essential, but you must have the ability to build a rapport with young people and be happy to work unsociable hours, including sleep-in duties, with the flexibility to meet the needs of the home. In many cases, our residents’ behaviour can be difficult or challenging. That means you’ve got to be very patient, calm and resilient. In the meantime, we’ll give you outstanding training to help you do your best.

We want you to help create a real home for our young people providing a warm, caring and supportive environment. In return for this, we offer a salary and benefits package that’s among the best in the sector. This includes our ‘Attendance Incentive Scheme’ and 35 days holiday (including bank holidays). It’s our way of bringing the best people to our homes, and encouraging them to stay.
